Biography
My career in the behavioral health field began in 2002 when I earned my first master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Since then, I have practiced as a family, couple, group, and individual therapist, case manager, drug court therapist, addiction educator, intake specialist, charge and staff registered nurse, patient medication educator, halfway house staff educator, nursing assistant, behavioral health technician and now for 19 plus years a psychiatric nurse practitioner. I have provided care psychiatric and behavioral health care in multiple types of settings including state hospital, inpatient hospital, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, regional center, halfway house, methadone, court ordered, locked dementia unit, convalescent home, assisted living, and outpatient clinics. Depending on the setting, I have provided services to all age groups from children to geriatrics, military service men, women, and their families, prisoners, court ordered individuals, immigrants, LGBTQIA+, and homeless.
