President
Kara West, LMFT

Hello! I'm Kara West, LMFT and I'm excited to serve on the local board as your President. I'm looking forward to collaborating with clinicians in the area and learning more about all of the amazing work each of you do. Having lived in Redding almost 10 years and although it has taken some time, I now officially call it home! I have discovered there are many things about the North State that are appealing - one of which is the work that I get to do.

A little bit about me, in 2013, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and in 2017, I finished my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology. I have a huge passion for working with the underserved population. I spent a little over 6 years working in Child Welfare, and currently, I work for Shasta County Office of Education; I also see clients in private practice.

As a clinician, my goal is to join in this process of self-discovery and through our work together, we can gain new insights, develop effective coping strategies, and build resilience to face moments of uncertainty with confidence.

I’m excited to join the lead RRC-CAMFT chapter as your new President! I’m looking forward to getting to know others in the field and learning how I can best support you.

P.S. In my free time, I enjoy comedic relief, tacos, dog walks, listening to podcasts, and trying out new recipes!

Past President
Marguerite "Meg" Ferrell, LMFT

I’ve been visiting my family in Redding since 1989, and I’ve always loved the sense of community here. In 2020, I made the decision to leave the hustle and bustle of Southern California and move to Redding, and I’m so grateful to call this beautiful place home. Living in the North State has been a dream come true, with opportunities to enjoy biking, hiking, and boating—plus, it’s incredible to drive around without the stress of traffic!

After working as a social worker with Children’s Services (CPS) in Riverside County, I decided to pursue a second career in therapy and opened my practice in February 2023. I specialize in helping people heal from childhood trauma, guiding them to reclaim their lives and find strength. I’ve received extensive training in EMDR (Levels 1 & 2), Brainspotting (Levels 1 & 2), Prepare/Enrich, Solution-Focused Therapy, and DBT.

I have been truly honored to serve the RCC-CAMFT community as your 2025 President and deeply valued the opportunity to serve and connect with our amazing members of RRC-CAMFT!

Treasurer
Jennifer Grovet, LMFT

After graduating from Walla Walla University, I taught General Psychology and provided counseling and academic advisement to students at Walla Walla Community College. The last 22 years of experience have been at Victor Community Support Services in Redding.

When I started at Victor, I was an MFT Intern working primarily which children under fourteen years of age. Later, my practice shifted to primarily teens and young adults. In 2008, I became licensed and took over supervision of the Therapeutic Behavioral Services Program which supports children with severe mental health concerns and frequent crisis symptoms that put their placement at constant risk. These children receive a high volume of individual and family services to help stabilize the client in their current setting. In 2010, I was promoted to full time supervision of unlicensed staff and continued oversight of the TBS program.

During that time, I supervised and mentored many associates and students toward licensure utilizing my interests in TFCBT, DBT, and Reflective Supervision. In May 2024, I attained certification as a supervisor through California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT). I continue to be passionate about building and maturing the talents and competency of clinical staff.

Membership Coordinator
Cynde Code, AMFT

I have been a registered associate therapist for two years. My background of interest and compassion in serving others is clearly evidenced in my eleven years of social work service. During my time as a social worker for Shasta County, I worked primarily in the child welfare system, helping to foster safety for children and improve supports to vulnerable populations. I have also worked with the Shasta County housing program where I continued to hone my knowledge of community resources and foster connections with programs that would assist my clients. I am highly resourceful and utilize my community connections to help others with meeting basic needs. My experience in social services led me to seek a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology at Simpson University. I graduated from that program in Fall of 2023. I joined the Victor Community Support Services team in September 2025 as a clinician.

In my role as membership coordinator, I look forward to serving the clinical community in joining, collaborating, and connection.
