Biography
Jenni Gordon, MA is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Simpson University. She has experience working in the schools with children and families, and has been in a private practice setting since 2013 and has transitioned to providing clinical supervision full time. She completed the 4-day externship with Dr. Susan Johnson on Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy in San Francisco in June of 2012. She was trained by Dr. DaLene Forester in EMDR, and was excited with its application to trauma work. Through this experience she came to realize she was passionate about negative belief systems and concepts of shame. So, when she saw Brené Brown’s Ted talk in 2010 in which Brené addressed the very human fear of vulnerability and linked it to the idea of shame, Jenni decided to pursue this work. Since then, she completed the National Training in the curriculum Brené developed, the Daring Way™, in San Antonio, Texas in February 2014. She is currently a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator (CDWF-Clinician) and has continued to build education on self-compassion, co-dependence, and grief work.
Jenni is also a clinical member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) and served as a board member of the Redding Regional Chapter of CAMFT. Jenni works with individuals, couples and families and has a specific interest in helping people break through barriers to vulnerability so they can live fuller, braver lives where they feel seen, heard and known through face-to-face sessions, teletherapy, and conducting workshops and online psychoeducational courses.
