The Workshop

ASIST is an intensive, hands-on course designed to help caregivers learn to identify the risk of suicide and to intervene in preventing immediate suicide risk. The training is based on adult learning principles and encourages participants to actively share in the learning process.

 

The Outcome

ASIST equips participants to respond knowledgeably and competently to persons at risk of suicide. The emphasis of ASIST is on suicide first aid - on helping a person at risk to stay safe and to seek further help. Participants learn how to:

• Recognize invitations for help
• Determine suicide
risk
• Apply an effective suicide intervention model • Provide appropriate support
• Link people with community resources

  CEUs Available

This course meets the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) qualifications for 14 hours of continuing education units for MFTs and LCSWs provided by Lynn E. Fritz, Provider Number PCE 5372.

Fee for MFT and LCSW CEUs is $50.
Proof of Attendance Certificate for Interns is $15
