The 3000 Club will be meeting on the 3rd Monday of every month from noon until 1:30 at the Park Marina Center for Wellbeing, 353 Park Marina Circle, Redding, CA 96001. The 3000 club is a gathering of interns, trainees and students. Each month a clinical member of our chapter will present a topic of interest based on their area of expertise. Attendees have will have the opportunity for education, community, networking and mentorship.
Bob Grosch will be speaking in February, he will be speaking Solution Focused Therapy which focuses on a solution to the problem rather than the problem itself. The client, not the therapist, constructs the solution which is already present anyhow (at least partially). In family therapy the members of the family do not even need to agree as to what the problem is, if they can agree on a solution and work toward it. The solution is what is happening when the problem is not happening. Diagnosis and insight are irrelevant to the formation of a solution.
