CRUCIBLE THERAPY

(Founder Dr. David Schnarch)

Crucible therapy is a great blend of Bowen’s work on Differentiation, the current research on Interpersonal Neurobiolgy, Mind-mapping, and how we learn in the context of relationships.  I am excited and passionate about this work and will do what I can to communicate these ideas to you.  Thanks for the opportunity!

DARREN SMITH, LMFT

As a native of Shasta County, I have immersed myself in all of the outdoor beauty Shasta County has to offer: hiking, skiing, kayaking, camping, and spending time in the mountains.  For me, time spent in the wilderness and close to nature gives me the solitude I need to have a strong sense of self and always strive to be a better man, husband and father.  I find it equally important to serve others, the community, by giving back.  I have been fortunate to have a thriving practice that has allowed me to be actively involved in public speaking, conducting seminars and trainings, including retreats designed for couples, parenting, and men’s work.    Currently, my practice is one serving mainly adolescents over 12, individuals, men, and couples.

I received my Bachelors in Child and Adolescent Development from Western Washington University.  I finished my formal education at National University in Redding, receiving my Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology.  Since then, I have worked at several non-profits and I am currently in private practice, serving a wide range of clients and providing many types of services including group, individual, family and couples counseling.  I have always been a lifelong learner and continue to do so by developing my practice using different methods tailored to my clients, following current research, continued education and a variety of modalities.

I will simply do my best to share what I know as I am still learning about Dr. David Schnarch's Crucible therapy.  I hope to convey some insights and practical things you can take away with you.

Lunch is available ($8 donation is recommended)
