CNPS MEETING Presenting Wildflowers of the Trinity Alps

The Shasta Chapter will now be meeting at the Northern California United Way Conference Room at 2280 Benton Drive Building B in Redding.  Enter on Benton Dr. as you would to go to the Senior Citizen Center, this is the second building as you drive into the parking lot, the opposite end of the lot from the Senior Citizen Center building.  We will have a sign on the street and in front of the building. Naturalist and photographer Ken DeCamp will be speaking about his new field guide, Wildflowers of the Trinity Alps, including the Russian and Marble Mountain Wilderness Areas and the Trinity Divide" coauthored by Julie Kierstead Nelson and we will have their books for sale below Amazon prices.  The meeting will start at 7 pm, but we will be there at 6:45 for book sales, a botanical term display (leaves this month) and plant ID by one of our Chapter members, bring your unknown plant or photo.  Everyone is welcome.


Native Plant ID  Do you have any plants you would like identified by one of our chapter experts?  Bring your unknown plant or a picture (flower and leaf best) to the meeting at 6:45 pm and we will have someone who can help with identification.  Book Sales We will have our books and posters for sale starting with our January meeting with discounts available for members. 


Learn new plant terms At the January meeting we will have several pages of leaf terminology with real leaves to help people learn plant taxonomy terms.  Each meeting we hope to feature different terms of plant morphology.
