Danni Mason, LMFT, specializes in recovery from domestic violence, sexual assault, sexual abuse as a child and drug/alcohol addiction. She graduated from Loma Linda University with a Masters of Science in Marriage & Family Therapy in 1995. She has been working with domestic violence victims for 25 years. She has worked with victims in domestic violence shelters providing individual psychotherapy. She brings an extensive knowledge of the subject to clients and providers.
Learning Objectives:
- Learn a specific intervention to assess severity, frequency and type of abuse present in an intimate relationship.
- Identify and understand the dynamics of coercive control and how to work with the complicated dynamics of these relationships.
- Learn a specific educational intervention to break denial and help move a client to safety.
- Learn an effective intervention to reduce emotional reactivity and engagement in the cycle of abuse.
- Identify legal & ethical issues regarding client safety and safety planning.
- Learn how to help a client build a stronger sense of self to increase their ability to protect themselves and their children.
