Kimber Serna will be speaking of the topic of sexual addiction. Topics that will be addressed are sexual addictions and reasons to intervene, risks avoided by early interventions in adolescents, definition and function of executive function, development of sexual addiction, interventions and needed research.

Kimber is currently supervised and employed by Dr. Patricia L. Bay Psy.D., Marriage and Family Therapist in Redding, California.  Her passion is working with couples to improve their relationships.  She enjoys working with communication issues, healing relationship trauma and increasing commitment. Kimber also has extensive training in dealing with sexual addictions.  In addition to these issues, she loves working with individual, adolescents and children in a variety of general, therapeutic presentations.

Kimber received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Phoenix in Colorado in Human Services and a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Simpson University in Redding, California. Kimber believes that assisting couples in healing their relationships is the most rewarding work in the world.

In Colorado, Kimber was under the supervision and training of Dr. Doug Weiss Psy.D. in Colorado Springs where she counseled and facilitated group therapy for families and individuals affected by sexual addiction. She is the author of a recovery manual for women who love sexual addicts.  This manual is used in Dr. Doug Weiss’ clinic.

Kimber is also an experienced motivational speaker.  She has helped many people find their full potential and experience success in their personal and professional lives, through her Quest for Success seminars. Her success has been discussed on Good Morning America, Iyanla, Marie Claire Magazine, and Success Magazine. Kimber has been a leader in the community giving her time volunteering at One Safe Place, Family Dynamics Center, and the Child Abuse Coalition. Her internships include divorce mediation, adolescent probation, traumatized youth and children interventions.

Kimber is happily married and has raised two daughters and two sons who are the light of her life. She enjoys fishing and traveling.  She brings a wealth of personal and professional experience to her counseling services. As an intern, Kimber’s session rate is reduced and therefore allows many to afford therapy who might otherwise not be able to participate.
