CULTIVATING MINDFULNESS AS A REFUGE AND PRACTICE

A retreat day of awareness practice, deep relaxation, and creativity

For Helping Professionals

Sponsored by: Redding Regional Chapter, CAMFT

Mindfulness can be a tool or a path. Like any tool, mindfulness can be studied and implemented as a skill for keeping sane in an insane world, but to what end? In this day long retreat, learn and/or deepen skills in mindfulness practice, find your own sense of calm and peace within, which can naturally generate a sense of compassion for the world.  Become inspired to step forth from this centered place with an open heart and serene mind.  You will create a symbolic image with the SoulCollage (r) process to honor your own gift and calling.

Limited to 15 participants!

DATE/TIME:    Friday, July 31, 2015, 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

COST:    $80 RRC members; $90 for community members; $45 for interns and students

6 CEUs included for licensed clinicians.

Snacks provided; please bring your own lunch

PLACE:   The Bainview Cottage, a private residence (address and directions sent upon registration)

Co-led by Alexa Singer-Telles, LMFT and Jo-ann Rosen, LMFT, who are both ordained as Dharma Teachers in the lineage of Thich Nhat Hanh.  They offer mindfulness practice with the unique understanding of what it takes to be a deep listener to the sorrows of

the world.  Both have recently trained in the Trauma Resiliency Model, a blend  of mindfulness and somatic resourcing, and will include this skill in the morning session.

Alexa co-founded the River Oak Sangha in Redding and teaches workshops in mindfulness, creative art expression, and the use of stories and mythology in psychotherapy.

Jo-ann is from Ukiah and offers workshops in communication and staff development in numerous public settings, both locally and internationally.

For more information about the retreat, please contact Alexa at 530-246-8317 or alexasingertelles@yahoo.com.  To register, go to www.reddingcamft.org.  Please register early as space is limited.
